With Maleny's water pipeline now firmly in the ground, it's heartbreaking to look around and see schemes we were told 'won't work' being put in place elsewhere:

GREENFIELD developments like that at Palmview, Peregian and Caloundra South were the ideal places to roll out innovative rainwater harvesting solutions, a national policy adviser said yesterday.

In future, we'll see more and more of this innovative way of addressing water capture, use and disposal.

But here in rainy Maleny, we'll be stuck with pipes and pumps.
